This seems to be the best way to increase Salems Discipline. Make sure you play with him afterwards though to get his health and happiness back up

COMPU KITTY
This is my Salem Giga Pet. Had an absolute disaster with him the first time I tried. All he would do is sleep and I found it really hard to keep him happy and keep his health high. It didn't matter in the end because he froze anyway and had to be reset :(
This time around it's going much better (even though he did freeze again!) I've discovered that if you play a game with him a lot it increases his health and happiness. You have to use discipline on him a lot as his discipline drops fast so playing with him is a good way to counteract the negative effects of it.
